چکیده
In article, we have reported a thermodynamic based study of aqueous solvation benzoic acid (C6H5COOH) at 288 to 318 Kelvin temperature. At this temperature range the dissociation constant (Ka) into solvent has been determined by applying titration method against standard basic solution NaOH different ionic strength NaCl. Although, in observation, value Ka is being inversely proportional respect between 289 K 303 K, and higher 314 it directly proportional. This reports that, there are no regular correlation that acid. Graphically, plot shown 4.176 298 finding precious results for its water Vant Hoff equation with Gibbs free energy change relationship (∆G = ∆H - T∆S) reaction (endothermic or exothermic) process condition parameters as terms enthalpy (H) entropy (S). Where, (in kJ.mol-1) ∆G 12.507, 3.823 ∆S -29.14, but, show an endothermic non-spontaneous.

Quantum mechanics investigation of acid dissociation constant of carboxylic acids in aqueous solution
According to the Bronsted definition, any compound which has a hydrogen atom is an acid, since itmay be lost as a proton. A thermodynamical cycle is proposed to calculate absolute pKa values forBronsted acids in aqueous solution. The equilibrium of dissociation of a Bronsted acid depends onthe interaction of the acid and its conjugate base with solvent molecules. There fore the pKa valuedepends...

Second-order Møller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2) is used to perform geometry optimizations on XHX(-).(H(2)O)(n) for X = Br, I, with n = 1 to 6 water molecules. Of particular interest is the manner in which the solvent molecules orient themselves around the solute and which configurations are lowest in energy. Although for most values of n, water molecules may donate all of their hydrogen a...
متن کاملModel for Aqueous Solvation Based on Class IV Atomic Charges and First Solvation Shell Effects
We present a new set of geometry-based functional forms for parametrizing effective Coulomb radii and atomic surface tensions of organic solutes in water. In particular, the radii and surface tensions depend in some cases on distances to nearby atoms. Combining the surface tensions with electrostatic effects included in a Fock operator by the generalized Born model enables one to calculate free...

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(8)H(9)NO(2), contains three crystallographically independent mol-ecules, which are essentially planar, the carboxyl O atoms deviating by 0.091 (3), 0.101 (2) and 0.164 (3) Å from the mean plane through the non-H atoms. In the crystal, all three mol-ecules form O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded about inversion centers, forming eight-membered rings with graph-set ...
متن کاملAqueous solvation of methane from first principles.
Structural, dynamical, bonding, and electronic properties of water molecules around a soluted methane molecule are studied from first principles. The results are compatible with experiments and qualitatively support the conclusions of recent classical molecular dynamics simulations concerning the controversial issue on the presence of "immobilized" water molecules around hydrophobic groups: the...
